About presentations

Different versions of presentations that can be downloaded

Type of file Features

Windows Media (wma)

  • Downloaded files are larger
  • Media player has feature to speed up or slow down playback e.g. we mostly speak slowly and clearly to allow fast playback of presentations.

Flash (flv)

  • Downloaded files are smaller sized
  • Needs flash player to be installed (a free download) but nearly all computers already have this.

Audio only

  • Downloaded files are smaller but do not include the video of the presenter

Self-extract

  • Downloaded ‘.exe’ rather than ‘.zip’ files for computers where zip files can not be opened.
  • Computers and networks for some employers might block ‘.exe’ files from being downloaded and opened.

Presenter transcript

Certain downloaded presentations include a transcript which can be read during the presentation -- open and play a presentation then seek the ‘help’ button or option to find out how to show the transcript.

Example of a download

  • Sign in to your My Account.

  • Add a product to your basket and proceed to Checkout.

  • One of several Paypal payment screens appears similar to this one.

  • Click "Continue" to pay by credit card.

  • After paying, return to the Process Knowhow site.

  • Links to purchased downloads are show e.g. click on 'Get low res flash (flv) (15.1 Mbytes)'

  • Alternatively, navigate to "My Account" at the top right of the page. Links to your downloads for the most recent order are listed in the “My Account information” page e.g. click on “Get low res flash (flv) (15.1 Mbytes)

  • Review orders details for links to download previous orders

  • After selecting a download link, save the file on your computer.

  • E.g. we created a folder ‘Processknowhow_downloads’ for our downloads.
  • In Windows XP and later, right-click on the downloaded file then “Explore”

  • But, if your Windows does let you explore the downloaded zip file then try opening it using Winzip.  If you do not have Winzip installed then download a ‘self-extract’ version.  Double click on the downloaded file and follow the prompts.

  • Copy the contents of the downloaded zip file to your own folder

  • Double click on the ‘index.html’ file to play a presentation
  • Your browser security settings need to allow scripts to be run.  If your browser prompts then accept running the script – this runs a bespoke media player.
